Job Title: Southeast Regional Sales Manager

Department: Baker Water Systems

Reports To: Vice President of Sales

Labor Grade: Salaried Exempt

SUMMARY

The Southeast Regional Sales Manager leads the sales efforts to sustain business performance by adding and retaining new customers to achieve established revenue goals. The Southeast Regional Sales Manager will introduce our products and be able to educate customers, therefore excellent communication skills are essential. This position requires a self-motivated, goal oriented and dependable individual to create and maintain on-going relationships. A sense of confidence and a positive, friendly attitude are important. The Southeast Regional Sales Manager candidate must have the vision, drive, and interpersonal skills to succeed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gaining market share from our competitors (goal of double digit sales growth).
  • Visiting key OEMs, Distributors, Water Well Drillers, Consulting Engineers, Municipal Water Department customers to retain/gain business.
  • Develop a short and long term sales growth plan for the region.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
  • Oversee all hiring, training and firing of direct sales personnel and factory representatives (no direct sales force at this time) in the assigned region.
  • Develop and/or maintain and improve business relations with all customers.
  • Seeks out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan (“who”, does “what”, “when”, “impact”) to approach and secure new business for the Company.
  • Coordinates sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the Company (Marketing, Engineering, Inside Sales, Residential Products, Environmental Products).
  • Recommend new products for development.
  • Write weekly trip/sales reports and email to the President, Vice President of Sales, other Regional Sales Managers.
  • Attend monthly conference calls forecasting/discussing sales, earnings for the month and remainder of the year.
  • Develop yearly sales and earning budgets for the region.
  • Participate with Senior Staff in the development/implementation of the Strategic Sales and Marketing Plan for the Company.
  • Travel of up to 70% is required, expecting to average a minimum of 12 in person calls per week.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering: or Bachelor in Business Administration. One to three years sales experience is required; water system products is preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is also preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Competence, awareness, and training for regular employees will be assessed when annual evaluations are conducted, along with other measurements in accordance with the area the employee is assigned to.
